Orthoses

Orthoses are used to provide targeted stabilization, guidance, and relief for joints and body regions. They are used, among other things, following surgery, for Knieverletzungen, childhood deformities, or osteoporotic changes, and can help reduce pain and enable safer movement.

By providing targeted support to joints and affected body regions, orthoses promote mobility and make daily life easier. An optimal fit, high comfort, and a design suitable for everyday use help ensure that the orthosis meets individual needs. Especially in children, an appealing design can further encourage acceptance of the orthosis.

Depending on the clinical presentation and treatment goal, konfektionierte Orthesen or custom-made orthoses are available. While konfektionierte Orthesen are available in various sizes and are professionally adjusted, custom-made orthoses are specifically crafted according to the patient’s anatomical characteristics and functional requirements. The selection of the appropriate orthosis is based on the medical indication and personal needs.

Orthopedic devices and complementary therapy concepts are also used for neurological conditions, such as hemiplegia following a stroke. Special systems for hand positioning and mobilization can support rehabilitation and promote independent practice in daily life.
