Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES)

Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) helps people with neurological disorders to specifically reactivate lost motor functions. It is used, among other things, after a stroke, in cases of multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, or other disorders of the central nervous system.

A common application is the treatment of foot drop. In this process, the nerves responsible for lifting the foot are stimulated by targeted electrical impulses. This helps support foot lift while walking, improves gait, and reduces the risk of tripping.
