Orthopedic insoles for safety and work shoes
Orthopedic insoles for safety and work shoes promote foot health, comfort, and workplace safety
Orthopedic insoles for safety and work shoes are used when discomfort or improper weight distribution occurs during daily work activities, or when medical care for the feet is required. They can help support proper foot alignment, reduce pressure, and improve comfort during prolonged standing, walking, or physical work.
Before any insoles are provided, an individual consultation is conducted to assess the cause of the discomfort and select the appropriate insoles based on personal needs and the specific nature of the job.
Certified Insoles and Insurance Coverage
Orthopedic insoles for safety shoes are part of personal protective equipment in the workplace. To ensure that the protective function of the safety shoe and insurance coverage remain intact, only type-tested and certified orthopedic insoles may be used. Unapproved gel, fur, or privately purchased insoles can compromise the shoe’s protective effect.
Cost Coverage
Providing safety shoes is one of the employer’s obligations under occupational safety regulations. The costs for orthopedic insoles or orthopedic modifications may be covered by the employer; however, there is no legal obligation to do so.
If the employer does not cover the costs, other funding sources may be able to do so, depending on the individual’s situation. These include, in particular, the Employment Agency, the German Pension Insurance, and—following a workplace accident—the relevant employers’ liability insurance association or accident insurance fund. Statutory health insurance plans generally do not cover the costs of orthopedic insoles or modifications to safety shoes.
Important The application for cost coverage must always be submitted before the purchase or placement of a binding order.
Submitting the Application
The applicant must submit the application to the responsible insurance provider. During your personal consultation, we will prepare the required cost estimate and provide the necessary documents for the application.
